Summer Learning Journey - Week 2 Day 2

Activity 1 - Watch the trailer for Gold Rush. On your blog, tell us what you think the movie is about. There are no words spoken movie so you will need to pay careful attention to what the actors are doing! Do you think you would enjoy watching a silent film? Why/Why not?
Opinion - I would watch a silent film like this because it just looks like a Mr Bean movie to me... I would also enjoy it because I have very noisy siblings and a film like that just looks like I would have to tell them to be quite. Overall, it just like a movie were you can read the pictures and actions they are doing....

Activity 2 -On your blog, give the painting a rating out of 5 stars (1 star = terrible painting, 2 stars = pretty bad painting, 3 stars = okay painting, 4 stars = good painting and 5 stars = amazing painting). After you’ve rated the painting out of 5, tell us why you gave it that rating.
I rate this painting a 4.5 because it looks very pretty and detailed but it's just it looks like if there were more places or things then I would rate it a 5/5.

Activity 3 - Imagine that you were a member of the flight crew. Write a poem that describes how you would have felt when you landed safely in Christchurch after such a long trip. Remember, there are lots of different types of poems, and they don’t all have to rhyme.

Going over the sea and water made me a bit sick
As I'm hoping we get back quick
We just saw Kentucky
I feel so lucky
To be on the ground
I had a frown
But now I am blessed
Instead of being stressed

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 1 - Activity 2/3

Activity 2 - On your blog tell us what you think about the fact that women were not allowed to vote in Saudi Arabia until 2015. Is it fair? Why or why not?

Opinion
I in my opinion I thought that it's not fair that us women were not allowed to vote because we are equally the same and for them to treat us women different is not fair.. Even though we are different to men we should be having the same opportunity like men.. I think that they should of changed that law many years ago.

Activity 3 - On your blog, tell us what you think of the poem. Do you like it? How does it make you feel?
This poem is very touchy and emotional to me because we have brave people who had fought for us. It is very emotional because they had to give their lives and family up for our country.. I am very proud of them..

Summer Learning Journey - Day 4

Summer Learning Journey - Day 4

Day 4 -  Hitting the high note

Activity 1 - Use Google to research traditional Māori Waiata. Listen to a number of Waiata and read the lyrics. On your blog tell us which one of the waiata you found you like the most. Why do you like it?

The songs I liked
Poi E
He Honore
Ka Pioioi
Pai mai

I enjoy listening to these songs because we sing them at school and they are very catchy to me. Theses songs just sometimes calm me down and when I listen to songs in a different language I feel like I'm learning a new language.

Activity 2 -Choose one game, and on your blog, tell us the (i) name of the game, (ii) the goal or purpose of the game, and (iii) two rules.
Matimati - Taonga Tākaro
The goal or main purpose of this game is to Read opponents movements and learn to evade in disguise attacking movements. Two rules that I learned in this game was that you have to have your two feet remain grounded. Another rule that I learnt was that when the striker, strikes that they must have an open palm.

Activity 3 - On your blog, rank the performances from your favourite (#1) to least favourite (#3) and tell us why you gave them the ranking that you did.
Te puku o Te ika - 9/10 - I thought that this was my favorite out of all of them because was it was dedicated to someone and they sang from the heart for that person.
Tamatea Arikinui - 8/10 -  I put as second because it was very close to number 1 but I decided to put this as second because they had a lot of dancing more than the first video. The girls and the boys also took turns to sing.
Te iti kahurangi - 8/10 -  This was my put as third because I couldn't have two seconds and if I did then this would also be second. This song was just so touching to me and made he start to just tear up. This song is more second than it is third.

Well, I am in a very big family and if I had to change anything I wouldn't change a single thing because you can get things done 10 times faster. You can also have each other to keep us company and you can also laugh 24/7 with them. I am so blessed to be in such a big family and I wouldn't change a single thing.
